1. This town is still small enough that most of the lights turn flashing red/yellow at midnight. Last night was my first time when the light turned flashing while I was sitting at it. This also happened just as my car clock turned midnight, so I guess the ol' toyota is well-synced with Ann Arbor traffic lights.
2. There's a lot of local restaurants in this town, such as Arbor Brewing Company. I ate at ABC last night. Good place. I ended up eating out a lot more than intended recently due to the fridge situation (see: my last several posts). Another fabulous place is Jerusalem Garden, which is a middle-eastern place that reminds me of all the kebab stands I ate at in Europe. I'm really sad that I just now went there for the first time.
3. It's an easily walkable, hippy, fun town. I walk almost everywhere. Heck, my friends and I walk even when we could drive. We went to ABC from campus (4 or 5 blocks), and we were going out with a professor and his kid. They had some stuff to carry (said kid spent the day in prof's office and needed some distractions), so they took the car. My friend and I still walked over to ABC.
Ann Arbor definitely has been good to me. U of M? That's a mixed bag. But Ann Arbor has definitely been pretty awesome. I'll try not to wax too nostalgic over the next two months (my last two!) here in town.
