My little brother turns 21 today. We're all grown up now, and that is a strange thought.
My family joined the Y, because we all need to get in better shape. We've spent many years working on our intellectual side, but our physical abilities are lacking. Strangely, my dad is the most sports-proficient in the family, despite not being in good shape. I have a feeling that he will get in good shape fast if going to the Y can become habit forming for him.
Today, my mom, dad, and I went to play racketball. We had a pretty grand time. My mom and I have never played before, so we just practiced hitting the ball. It was really cute to see my mom get into things, since she's a fairly reserved person. She was running after the ball and hitting it. When she gets loosened up like that, I can see a lot of my own personality. I come by these things honestly.
I'm continuining the practice of decluttering. A friend came to visit this weekend (hence the silence here), and we cleaned two grocery bags (or maybe more) worth of clothes out of my closet. I got rid of a lot of "sentimental attachment" type items and kept (and intend to wear) some things I've owned but never felt confident enough to wear. Despite the pruning, tho, I have more to go.
Back to that now. More later.
