Good movie. Went with my mom, dad, little bro, and his girlfriend. We enjoyed the movie and parsed it afterward over dinner.
Ultimately, we decided the first hour was too slow. It was necessary for plot building, but it kind of dragged on.
I didn't think there was a tense enough feeling most of the time. You know how some movies just make you feel it and some don't? This one didn't feel tense enough.
On the whole, however, I did like it. It was really sad. There were some great little details carried out through the entire movie; this really impressed me. I can't say too much more without giving away a major chunk of the plot.
I don't think it's necessary to see it in the theater, but it is a good watch overall.
I will say that once was enough for me, I think. There's nothing in this movie I need to see over and over, unlike some movies I watch (but that's for another post).
