I stopped by Pacific to spend the night last night, since I figured it would be nice to see friends while I was in Oregon. It's been lovely. I went swimming last night at the local pool (students get in free, and I still have a student ID, and it's not like they card anyway). I've been hanging out with a good family friend, and it has been relaxing and fun.
I've decided I must return to graduate school. I spent a good chunk of time yesterday looking up journal articles and photocopying them. I miss reading about the latest goings on in biology.
It's funny to see how things have changed so fast. I graduated last May, but there are already differences. The new library is open, and it is beautiful. In fact, I'm in the new library right now. The student dining center has been all changed up, and it looks nothing like it did 4 years ago when I entered this place. The dorms are refreshingly the same, but they won't be for long; a new dorm is being built, and the dorm I called home for two years will be torn down within another few years.
Despite the differences, it is still a good visit. I'm going to go visit a prof soon, and then I will go into PDX and enjoy the beautiful city. I'm meeting up with another college friend, and I think we'll tear up the town.
