Dear newscarriers:
I realize that people who deliver the newspaper are now adults that are looking for a supplemental (or sometimes primary) income. I know you have huge areas to cover, and you usually deliver papers from your car. None of these things bother me, even if I do think that more teenagers should be working.
No, the crux of the issue is this:
would it kill you to put the newspaper on my porch?
yes, it involves throwing, if you don't want to get out of the car. However, one of you (Seattle Times carrier) manages to get the paper to the top of the driveway with relative accuracy. Why can't you just throw the paper on my porch? It landed there for at least five of the ten years we've lived here.
King County Journal delivery person, I'm even more disgusted with you. Do you just drop my paper on the curb as you roll by? Why can't you make even a half-assessed throw up the driveway?
Both of you are morning papers, and I, like most people, enjoy reading the morning paper with breakfast before I've gotten properly dressed. It used to be that I could open my door, pop out, and pick up the paper. Now, I've got to put on flip flops (my pair now holds a permanent residence beside the front door), walk to the driveway, and collect the two newspapers that aren't even in the same spot.
Honestly, I'm asking for one of two outcomes. I want either the King County Journal at the top of my driveway, with my nice Seattle Times, or I want them both on my porch. We have a big porch, there aren't huge bushes on either side of it, and I don't think it'd be that hard to hit. Could you please at least try this for a few days?
much thanks,
your loyal newspaper reader
