as seen at Antsaint's One Year Ago Today:Seattle
One year ago today, I was hanging out with these fine fools. The following picture is from that visit. Pictured are Jose, Melody, Javier, Leah, and Viola. Vi is a friend of mine from school here, and she was studying abroad in Spain. I visited her over my March break, and she brought along a whole herd of people to come visit me.

We all slept in my little room, which was big until you tried to have five people in it. Thankfully, I had a fold out futon, so three of them slept on the futon, Javi brought an air mattress, and I had my little IKEA metalframe bed.
Vi's visit was mostly good times. It was wonderful to see her, and I got to practice my Spanish with the boys. It was kind of fun (and mentally quite difficult) to transition between Spanish, Dutch, and English all in the same day. I got 7 hours of sleep each night when they were visiting, which seems like a lot (and people told me not to complain about it). However, when speaking multiple different languages, you just get tired very very quickly. Languages are not for the weak of spirit or heart.
During their visit, we explored Leiden, Amsterdam, the Hague, and I'm not sure what else. I didn't keep a journal over those days, and I only blogged once.
Still, it's nice to know that I can figure out what I was doing a year ago. I remember this day a year ago quite distinctly (morning in A'dam, train back to Leiden for class, then out for pannekoeken). Thanks for the reminder to look backward, Ant.
