Time for the January report!
19. Attend three concerts/dance shows
While in DC, I attended a few shows at the National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian. I really like the museum, and it has a lovely concert area right near the entrance. Our favorite was a Panamian-African drum band. Talk about encouraging people to get up and dance! Best ever was this older gentleman who got up and jigged right in front of the drummers.
okay, apparently I already finished this one in December. So I guess I can't count it. I really need to update my master list after every single month. Whoops!
21. See an author read from his/her work
Zandria and I knocked this one out of the park. The talk was actually really great! I really do want to read the book. We went to a talk about Fifty Miles from Tomorrow: a Memoir of Alaska and the real people. It's about an Alaskan native who served as a state senator in Alaska. Like Zandria, I plan to read the book . . . just need to get a copy through inter-library loan, as my library is too small to have it.
45. Send a “just because” care package to a friend
I sent a care package to my faboo friend April. I figured she could use some love in her crazy Wyoming winter. I sent her tea, chocolate, some funny nature shapes pasta, crayons and coloring pages, instructions on playing string games, and more. It was a lot of fun putting it together. And April even took pictures!
(note: I have finally fixed the tally numbers in here. They've been wrong for ages -- after an hour, I finally found my mistake back in month 3. I missed two separate goals that month! I guess that's okay, considering that I finished 7 goals in June 2008)
